Hazard DNA

Hazard DNA is Alfa HazardX's behaviour signature: a fixed-length vector computed from a window of sensor readings, built from rates of change rather than raw values, and matched against a library of known hazard patterns.

Why it matters

Because the features describe movement, a signature is portable between sites with different ambient baselines. A rise of a given steepness is the same rise in a paint shop and a machine shop, which is what makes a shared signature library possible.

How it works

Twelve features are computed over a window: seven velocities, two accelerations, and three describing episode shape. Each channel has its own normalisation scale so no single noisy channel dominates. The resulting vector is compared against stored signatures for a similarity score.

Example

A slow solvent leak and a fast one produce different signatures even where both eventually reach the same concentration.

In Alfa HazardX

Computed on the node and on the server using the same feature order. A match can open an incident and inform whether the AI layer is consulted - it does not drive the alarm, which stays threshold-driven.
